Nadal wins on clay, again! Rafael Nadal knocks off Roger Federer in the finals in Madrid putting himself back into 2nd in the world rankings. Nadal seems to be back from his injuries that have plagued him much of the last year but in re-cementing his dominance on clay he has made himself a heavy favorite to win the French Open.

Nadal & Federer are undoubtedly the two best tennis stars in the men’s field. It is almost expect that Nadal & Federer face off in the finals of most tournaments but while Federer has dominated in most tournaments he struggles somewhat on clay. Nadal struggles at times on other surfaces but is near unbeatable when healthy playing on clay.

Nadal is undefeated on clay this year, going 15-0 thus far. Federer was happy to face his rival in an extremely competitive match given the questions of late about Nadal’s health. As has usually been the case when these two get together they were complementary of each other’s skill & dominance.
